UPDATE 8/1/11: Ad Hoc no longer exists, but has spawned two new coworking projects!
While we all had a hard time letting Ad Hoc go. It met much of our needs as creative businesses, so much so that each member became much clearer on what their business needed.
- Ben Mauer and Quilted has moved on to a social justice-oriented coworking space at 549 Columbus Ave, Boston MA 02118 near Mass Ave station. For more info contact creativecoopspace@gmail.com.
- Ben Spear and Thinkside, as well as Allana Taranto and Ars Magna Studio, have begun working on a creative coworking project in Downtown Boston, and are currently working at 332 Newbury St, Second Floor, Boston MA 02115.
- Rough Mountain Studios is in their own office, focusing strongly on developing their business.
Ad Hoc is a coworking studio for creatives and entrepreneurs. We’re located on Meehan St. in Jamaica Plain, in the former horse stable for Doyle’s Pub. Updated for efficiency and functionality, we love the exposed brick and other relics from the stable’s past.
The space is open with great natural light, a kitchenette and conference room downstairs. Individual floor spaces for members are the same size, with the remaining space devoted to common use. We’re all happiest when Ad Hoc is buzzing with energy, so we’re utilizing common space for guests, part-time members, and events.
We welcome energetic people who are passionate about their disciplines, community, and coworking. Ad Hoc is a haven for individuals craving cross-pollination, learning, and fun. People of color, women, LGBTQI folks, and nice people are encouraged to be here.
